A complete range of pickups inspired by times that matter in the
electric guitar story
P&Pickups, it's some scatter-winding pickups handmade in my
little workshop of the north of France. I use tradtional components
coming for a major part from the USA. These pickups are winding with
vintage wires like Heavy Formvar or Plain Enamel. The magnets are
selected
and magnetized by myself. I use vintage cloth wire for all these
pickups and rubber spacers. All these pickups are available for
left-handed players. They are available free of charge with different
covers :
parchment, white, cream, mint or black. It's also possible to obtain
another finish (including relic).
These pickups are available individually, by a set of three or on a
complete pickguard ready to set on the P&P online shop.
L-Series
These pickups are the exact
reproduction of Fender pickups built between 57 and 62. They are
scatter winding with US heavy formvar wire. The magnets are Alnico 5.
They are precisely the specs of the early 60's Fender pickups.
Sound characteristics :
- percussive sound, exceptional dynamics,
- Bright and crystalline, not excessive in clean sound
- warm lows
- lot of harmonics
It's the perfect pickup for a clean sound, even if crunch is also
interesting.
They are recommended for blues, country, jazz, funk, reggae, indie,
pop, britpop, classic rock.

Red House 69
Late 60's : Fender is managed by CBS. Everyone is talking about
Hendrix. Pickups he uses are able to finely cope with effects pedals.
The Heavy Formvar vintage wire has been replaced with darker Plain
Enamel. Output volume is superior compare to L-Series pickups. High
frequencies are less agressive but still clear with a lot of presence.
Basses are tighter and deeper. Alnico 5 magnets. A great choice for
effects users.
