PAF 59: a range of traditional double coil pickups.

P&Pickups are hand-wound (scatter winding) pickups that I hand-wound in the North of France. I use components that conform to tradition, mostly coming from the USA. This range of double-coil pickups takes up the specificities of the original humbucker created by Gibson at the end of the 50s: two coils filled with Plain Enamel wire and Alnico magnets selected and magnetized by me. On the wiring side, they are assembled with a 4-wire sheath + a ground braid allowing any type of assembly (split, phase / out of phase etc.). Different versions exist: neck or bridge version, with or without cover, Alnico 2 or Alnico 5, 4-wire or 2-wire sheath (on request). The covers and chassis (baseplates) are made of nickel / silver, a guarantee of high quality and musicality.

Alnico 2

This is probably the softest in the range. The Alnico 2 magnet has less magnetic power and offers exceptional sustain. It is ultra dynamic and very musical. The frequencies are balanced, making this pickup very versatile. The sound is round and warm, the treble present but not shrill. It is the exact reproduction of the famous Gibson PAF, wound with the same Plain Enamel wire that was found at the time. A resolutely vintage pickup, therefore, rather focused on Blues rock / rock, but which will also be suitable for more muscular music provided that the amp produces enough gain.

They are very suitable for blues, blues rock, country, jazz, funk, reggae, indie, pop, britpop, classic rock.

Available with or without cover, in bridge or neck version, 2 or 4 wires.
